A Divine Appointment

prayer2I thank God for everyone who visits or has visited this site. You are an answer to prayer. I don’t know if you know it, but I pray for you. I pray that God will comfort and care for you. I pray that God will bless you with His favor and presence and I pray that He will strengthen you in your inner spirit and show you His joy of rescue.

When you visit, it is a divine appointment. You have been called by God. You have been called and I have been called.

We come to experience our living, awesome, everywhere God. Prayer is one way we can experience God.

Is prayer important today?
You bet. We live in a spiritual battlefield. Ephesians 6:11-12 tells us, “to put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

But more than this why do we pray?
2 Cor 5:17-18 says, “Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence. God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships. ” God’s Word trans.
If you are a Follower of Isa, you know that we are ambassadors for Christ, divine diplomats making God’s appeal for all to be reconciled to God. For Christ’s love compels us that all be reconciled to God.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God! For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,* so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”  NLT

We pray to reconcile people back to God. We pray because the world needs God and so do we. God is listening (1 Peter 3:12) and can be found by those who are looking (Matthew 7:7). Whatever we ask, think or imagine, God will do immeasurably more (Ephesians 3:20). And we pray so that the NAME of Jesus will be glorified in us (2 Thes 1: 11-12; 1 Peter 2: 12).

It is my expectation, my hope, and prayer that we will be forever changed by knowing and experiencing God. I know that sounds scary because we feel most comforted with the status quo, but God calls us out of our comfort zones and into a place of faith, prayer, and service for His glory.

It is also my goal that we learn to weave prayer into the fabric of our lives, in the same way that Lord Jesus did (Luke 5:16) and that the main focus of our lives will become God. Comfort is America’s God. If I were to ask you what is the main focus of your life, what would you say? What thing(s) are gripping you?

My hope, is that we will submit to God and let our loving, yet holy God grip us towards prayer in a way that He has never gripped us before.

Prayer is not something that can be learned, it must be experienced, but before you tune out, there are many creative prayer endeavors. Our God is a creative God. And He loves to change it up and allow us to experience new things. Our God is a WOW God. He likes to WOW us. He is the God who created the universe, after all.

So let me encourage you to experience God through prayer. Calling on God, is not new, it is as old as time began and still, calling on God will make us new. Let’s be new together. Let’s pray!
