I have two new friends. One is a fish seller and the other is a maker of ice chests. These two are pretty much inseparable; the main reason is because there is only one motorcycle between the two of them. The one that owns it is too afraid to drive it, so the second drives it while the first rides. That is how it always is when they come to pick me up. I hop on the back and that makes three; and we’re off to the mosque. On the way we get a flat tire almost every time, which I always blame on the weight; they always blame it on Satan. My friends like to take me to the mosque so they can listen to me talk to the big sheikh, asking and answering questions. Pray that the Truth will come out through questions and answers. Pray that the enemy will not be able to slow them down anymore.
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)…”
Holy Father and Christ our Lord, before we knew You, we were like “zombies”. We couldn’t see, hear or feel Your presence. We lived like other zombie people, stumbling around, seeking, numb, wanting, living from pleasure to pleasure, passions on overdrive, spiritually dead, dead, dead, yet seeking comfort and peace, lusting for, grabbing for anything that would gratify, satisfy all of our self-centered whims… but you came and found us. But God…
But God, You changed all that. You changed our dead, corrupt and rotting zombie flesh and made us alive to You. We can hear Your voice. We feel Your presence. You forgave because You are rich in mercy. Your grace is overflowing and abundant. You are lovely, such a lovely God.
Christ Jesus, You saw what it was like to live in “zombie land”. You are God and yet You became flesh and lived among us, but without becoming a zombie (John 1: 1-4; 14). Draw all “zombie” people to yourself and make them alive in You and to You.
• We pray that You will redeem spiritually dead men & women, “zombies”, wherever they might be, and make them alive .
