God Weaving the Threads of Our Lives into the Tapestry of His Purpose
Day 5 Thursday: Jesus Weeps Over Jerusalem. As Jesus drew closer to Jerusalem, the Temple was most certainly the main feature of the city.
“Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas, went to the ruling kohanim and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” And they weighed out thirty shekels of silver for him. From then on, Judah began looking for a chance to hand Him over (Matthew 26:14-16, TLV).
“Now Yeshua stood before the governor. The governor questioned Him, saying, ‘Are You the King of the Jews?’ ‘You say so,’ Yeshua said. And while He was accused by the ruling kohanim and elders, He did not answer. Then Pilate said to Him, ‘Don’t You hear how many things they testify against you?’ Yeshua did not answer, not even one word, so the governor was greatly amazed” (Matthew 27:11-14, TLV).
A Holy Week Prayer Guide Day 2 Monday: The Grief of the Garden Key Verses: “Then they come to a place whose name is Gethsemane; and Yeshua says to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He takes with Him Peter, Jacob, and John; and He began to be deeply distressed and troubled. And He tells them,…

Excerpts from my favorite prayer book… “We die; indeed we have to die in order to be resurrected, restored, [transformed], and renewed. We die and we die and we die in this life, not only physically-within seven years every cell in your body is renewed-but emotionally and spiritually as change seizes us by the scruff…

The other day I ran across the most interesting confession written by Mike Yaconelli. His words describe my thoughts and feelings exactly…with a large dash of hope. So here I stand, looking at the ground, smelling the faint fragrance of God. Never once did it occur to me that when I found God’s trail again,…

And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Luke 21:29-31…

My spouse and I moved recently. It wasn’t an easy move, such as across town or to another state in the US, but to another country…the Middle East, Israel no less. God called. We answered. Possessions given away, lent out, or stored. Beloved pets now in the hands of new people. All gone. With suitcases…
